TN- Visa is a nonimmigrant visa status that allows professionals from Canada and Mexico to work in the United States. For U.S. Mexican professionals you must obtain a TN visa at a U.S. Consulate or Embassy. U.S. Canadian professionals can request for TN status at U.S. port of entry.
You may be eligible to work in the United States as a professional with a TN nonimmigrant classification if you meet the following conditions:
- Must be a citizen of Mexico or Canada
- Profession must qualify on TN profession list
- Job offer is from a U.S. employer
- Qualify for the offered position
- Non immigrant category meaning, intentions to enter U.S. temporarily
- You will work in a prearranged full-time or part-time job for a U.S. employer or entity; and
TD-Visa are for spouses and unmarried children (under age 21) of TN non-immigrant who are following to join may be eligible for a TD nonimmigrant status visa. Under this category Spouse and children ae not permitted to work while in the United States but they are permitted to study. The main benefits of this visa category are it allows families to live together during the TN holder’s assignment, and provides the dependents an opportunity to attend school. This category automatically aligns the authorized period with the TN holder as a TD visa is a derivative visa.
